How it works
The person needs their document and a phone or computer with a camera. Your team needs nothing new to install.
From the review desk, or from your own system through our API. The person's name and email are fixed to the link, which works once and expires after 14 days.
The camera frames the open passport or ID card, checks the photo is sharp and readable, and asks them to tilt it so the hologram shows.
A ring around their face fills as they turn their head, then two random actions: close their eyes until a beep, smile, or open their mouth.
A recent electricity, water or internet bill, bank statement or official letter. KYCoff reads it and looks for the name and address.
A reviewer sees every result, confirms each check, and approves or rejects. High risk needs a second, senior approver.
A PDF report with every detail, photo and decision, and an audit trail no one can quietly edit.
What we check
Automated results tell your reviewer where to look. They never make the decision: your reviewer confirms each one before a client can be approved.
01 · Document
The person tilts the document while we watch which areas change colour; prints, copies and screens stay flat. The lines of <<< at the bottom are read, every check digit is recalculated, and the printed name, number and dates must agree with them.
02 · Face
The selfie and every frame of the face scan are compared with the document photo, then compared again on the reviewer's side, with an age check against the date of birth.
03 · Liveness
Head movement in a full circle and random actions that a photo or a recorded video cannot follow. Optionally, a short video of the person saying four random numbers.
04 · Address
Mobile phone bills and documents older than six months are refused. The declared address must be on the document.
05 · Risk
A documented risk score with the EU and FATF high-risk country lists kept current. Sanctions and PEP screening is available as an add-on.
06 · Decision
High-risk clients need a second approval from senior management before they can be accepted.
For your MLRO
What KYCoff does not do. It does not read the passport chip and is not a certified document examiner, and its liveness check has not been lab-tested to ISO/IEC 30107-3. A trained person reviews every case, and we tell you exactly where the automated checks stop.
